About Katharina Pistor
German. Edwin B. Parker Professor of Comparative Law at Columbia University, scholar and author. Katharina Pistor has been teaching at Columbia Law School since 2001. Her research and teaching focuses on the law of firms and finance in the US, Europe, and developing countries. Her most recent book “The Code of Capital: How the Law Creates Wealth and Inequality” (Princeton UP, 2019) was named one of the best books of the year by the Financial Times and Business Insider. She loves music and plays the harpsichord.
