Growing up in tropical Australia, Harris Eyre MD PhD originally trained in clinical medicine and neuroscience. He is now based in the USA and is an executive working to optimize brain function in the modern world. He has co-developed the field of Brain Capital, an asset class which puts a premium on brain skills and brain health. Brain Capital is relevant to a complex, interconnected and fragile global economy. It ensures that the impact of brain health disorders are interwoven in a new understanding of the economy and to explore measures such as tracking, monitoring and evaluating diversified investment approaches. He is an alumnus of Forbes 30 Under 30 and the Fulbright Scholar program, and an adjunct associate professor. He was awarded the 2020 Innovation Award from the Australian American Chamber of Commerce and HP. He is co-lead of the OECD-PRODEO Institute Neuroscience-inspired Policy Initiative, which seeks to advance brain-based policy and investment innovations. He seeks to leverage insights from diverse fields including the aerospace industry, diplomacy, economics, social impact investing, responsible innovation and transdisciplinary science. He maintains advisory or adjunct roles with the Healthy Brains Global Initiative, Baylor College of Medicine, BrainLat, the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, Deakin University, the University of Melbourne and The University of Adelaide. Harris has authored 100+ papers and chapters in outlets such as Lancet Neurology, Neuron, World Psychiatry and The RSA Journal. He co-edited the book ‘Convergence Mental Health’ (Oxford University Press). His work has been covered in the New York Times, Newsweek and the Australian Financial Review.
